[ Word travels fast around the office. By the time Grell had returned from her shift to submit the appropriate paperwork, a secretary had already asked her if she'd been by to check on Mister Spears.

Now, she had known that he had been sent on an investigative mission with Ronald earlier that day, so she immediately assumed the worst. Demanding to know where to find them sent her bolting off to the lower levels. The new recruits were smart enough to dash out of the way - and some of them even directed her to the appropriate department; the optometrist's office, where she found William sulking in the lobby.

The poor man was without his glasses, but aside from a scuffed cheek and some healing bruises, appeared to be in one piece. It was his pride that seemed wounded, as the very air about him seemed heavy. ]

Oh, Will.

[ Heaving a sigh of relief, she sinks down into the chair beside him. Though knowing fully well that he won't like it, she won't be kept from fussing over him; reaching out to gingerly dash back some of his hair left mussed by his scuffle, while taking a good look at his wounds. ]

What did I tell you about taking care of your glasses, mm?

[ Seeing that he's settling down, she excuses herself to fiddle with the record player. Settling down her bag, she allows herself a moment to shift through the disks, ultimately picking something that she can enjoy as well; a classical composition, that while a tad melancholy, is sinuous and tranquil in quality.

It will hopefully be enough to entertain William's mind while he searches for slumber. ]

I'll be in the bathroom, then. If you should need anything, I trust you to give me a shout! Otherwise, I'll be forced to dress down here, alright~?

Fine. Go do whatever it is you need to do in there.

[ He points towards the bathroom, shooing her off. Though apparently, he's content with her album selection. As she exits the room, he rolls to his side, shifting the pillows to fully support his head. The covers are practically pulled up to his nose and he settles into the bedding with a tired sigh. ]

[ Features settling, a fond smile plucks at the redhead's lips. He looks so peaceful that she even takes care to quietly close the door behind her!

Forgoing her evening bath, she doesn't take too incredibly long to prepare for bed. A quick shower, a touch-up shave, a few skin treatments, and a moisturizer later, she's finally ready to crawl into bed. (William might not see much of anything, but she wont miss the chance of appealing to his other senses!)

Stepping out, she ties off the end of her braid to rest over her shoulder. Just in case he's fallen asleep, she tiptoes her way over to take off the record! Then, it's over to the bed, to carefully peel back the covers. ]

[ Despite her attempts to keep quiet, William's acute hearing picks up all the soft shuffling of her feet. But it isn't until he feels the blankets shift that he lazily opens his eyes. With the moon shining through the window as his only source of light, he can make out even less than before. Still, he looks up to where Grell's face must be and speaks in a calm and tired tone. ]

Behave yourself or you're going back to the sitting room floor.

--Oh. Light sleeper, hm?

[ That does make reality sink in, though; she's actually sleeping beside William! Teeth pressed into her lip, she slips under the covers. ]

So, what would constitute as misbehaving?

Touching without permission.

[ He says after a heavy sigh. ]

Honestly, you should know this, by now.

[ Actually, the 'with permission' portion of that statement seems like new information to her! Perhaps her stunned silence will say as much.

Really, is that his reasoning for objecting so vehemently? People would actually expect to be asked first? ]

. . . Would it be alright to lay against you, then?

[ Totally not going to work, but she might as well give it a go! Awaiting his answer, she hasn't settled down onto her designated pillow, just yet; instead, propped onto her elbows. ]

[ William's almost just as shocked that Grell actually asked and didn't just whine. It almost makes him want to reward her for finally listening to him. ]

As long as you keep your hands from wandering, yes.

[ With a sharp breath, Grell cuts herself short of a gasp. ]

Really-!

[ No, before he changes his mind, she'll need to take advantage. So, despite how she gawking, or how hot her cheeks have become, she's going to wiggle closer!

Since he's on his back, she nearly takes the liberty of moving his arm so that she can get close - but, no! ASKING. ]

Could you please-- lift your arm, darling?

[ Surprised, yet again, William takes a moment to note this before fulfilling her request. ]

Even saying 'please'. [ If he wasn't on the verge of sleep, he might sound impressed. ] It's a wonder you took so long to understand this.

[ It feels as though she's just been granted some blessed power, and she's especially in shock as she settles down to nestle against William, head on his shoulder. Surely, this could not be real life. ]

Seriously, this is all you've wanted me to do? [ She doesn't even have enough sense to remove her glasses, at the moment. She's just blinking up at him, wide-eyed and trying to process it. ] It's not that you wanted nothing to do with it-- I could have just asked, all this time?

I wanted you to respect my personal space, just as I would with any other. I don't fancy having affection forced upon me.

[ He settles the arm he'd lifted around her, his hand resting on her shoulder. ]

That isn't to say my answer will automatically be 'yes' any time you do have the sense to ask.

[ Well, damn. That would answer what her next question would have been.

Though, just to be sure-- ]

Sooo, if I were to ask you for a kiss...

No.

[ It comes out of his mouth almost immediately. But he seems rather calm in all his sternness, and he shifts a bit to settle them into the plush bedding. ]

[ Despite the huff that results, Grell seems quite content where she is.

As he nestles them down, she removes her glasses and slides her braid free of their chain. Even if she's a bit hesitant to pull away, she reaches over him to place them at the bedside table. ]

Yes, well, can't blame a girl for trying.

[ Now she's free to nuzzle into his shoulder, her hand settling over his chest and wrapping into the cloth of his shirt just so. Oh, and when she inhales, she can just smell him - feel his warmth! She must be blushing like a schoolgirl, as it's the happiest she's been in so long... if ever! Her soothed exhale carries an overly content hum. ]

[ William'd nearly forgotten what it felt like to have someone laying so close beside him. And perhaps, it isn't until now that he realizes just how lonely he'd grown over the years. Reflexively, he gives Grell's shoulder a gentle squeeze. ]

Perhaps consider this a thank you for helping me, today.

[ Even such a small gesture of fondness leaves Grell's heart fluttering. Her hand shifts to his waist, giving him an embrace, in turn. ]

Mn, spending time with you has made me happy enough-- but don't think you'll escape me now, just because of that.

[ Though she teases, her voice is beginning to drift into airiness. As they are, she's become incredibly relaxed. ]

I know I will never be rid of you. That is just my fate, at the point.

[ Something he's accepted, regardless of how much he complains about it.

William's eyes grow heavier the more they relax against one another. Despite everything that's happened today, he somehow feels this is going to be the best night's sleep he's had in a very long time. ]

I feel that it always has been.

[ Fighting off a yawn is unsuccessful, and that is her sign that she's ready to consent to her body's demands. ]

Goodnight, Will♥.

[ William catches that contagious yawn, covering his mouth with the back of his hand. He then resettles it atop his chest, just next to Grell's. ]

Do not forget you have work in the morning.

[ Such a sweet bidding of goodnight as he lets his eyes drift shut. ]

[ With a dismissive hum, Grell relaxes her hand just enough to let their knuckles touch.

And perhaps dismissing that warning wasn't entirely wise - as William's alarm clock jolts her awake with a jump. It doesn't sound anything like hers, after all.

Relaxing back onto him, she groans - and it's then that she realizes she'd managed to get away with threading one of her legs between his, half her body on his and face nestled against his neck.

It's just too nice to move, so she's swinging her hand at the clock in vain while muttering indecencies under her breath! ]

[ Whether William wakes up due to his alarm or all of Grell's flailing and muttering is uncertain. He does them both the favor of shutting of the clock, his hand locating the button without even having to turn towards it. And wow, she certainly did claim more territory while they slept, which William isn't too perturbed about, just yet. ]

Up.

[ While the demand earns a tired, whiny groan, muffled against William like so, the reality of the situation does settle in. Being that if she doesn't get up soon, she'll arrive to work looking like she'd been on the business end of a train wreck.

Rolling onto her side, she reaches out to pat around for her glasses, before lazily putting them in place. Rubbing a hand against her cheek, and up over an eye, she yawns. ]

Mnnn, I don'wann'tgo...

Stop whining. You aren't a child.

[ With a hefty tug, he manages to remove the blankets from her, entirely, then proceeds to bundle himself up in them. You better believe he's sleeping in late today!
Unfortunately for Grell though, William doesn't take nearly as much time to ready himself to go out into the world as Grell presumably does. Seems she'll only have an hour before she's expected to be punching in! ]

[ Grell doesn't even have the opportunity to whine about the sudden temperature change - she's just noticed the time! With a mighty GASP, she tumbles her way off the bed and makes for the bathroom!

Very hastily, she sets to washing her face, and haphazardly slaps her way through her morning skincare routine. Brushing through her hair only makes her realize that she'll have no time to style it, as per the norm, so she settles with re-braiding it, off to the side.

-- And breakfast! She'll need to figure out something for William to eat, as well! With a flustered huff, she hurries through dressing, so that she can get on that.

Unfortunately, this means that she's taken over the bathroom vanity, and left her night clothes tossed atop his hamper.

Perhaps half an hour later, she returns to the bedroom, juggling a few different pieces of dinnerware. ]

--Darling? [ Grell leans down to gently nudge his shoulder. ] I've left breakfast on the stand, alright? There's tea and a glass of juice there, so be careful not to topple it... I've left a few snacks for you on the counter in the kitchen, as well.
