[ Word travels fast around the office. By the time Grell had returned from her shift to submit the appropriate paperwork, a secretary had already asked her if she'd been by to check on Mister Spears.
Now, she had known that he had been sent on an investigative mission with Ronald earlier that day, so she immediately assumed the worst. Demanding to know where to find them sent her bolting off to the lower levels. The new recruits were smart enough to dash out of the way - and some of them even directed her to the appropriate department; the optometrist's office, where she found William sulking in the lobby.
The poor man was without his glasses, but aside from a scuffed cheek and some healing bruises, appeared to be in one piece. It was his pride that seemed wounded, as the very air about him seemed heavy. ]
Oh, Will.
[ Heaving a sigh of relief, she sinks down into the chair beside him. Though knowing fully well that he won't like it, she won't be kept from fussing over him; reaching out to gingerly dash back some of his hair left mussed by his scuffle, while taking a good look at his wounds. ]
What did I tell you about taking care of your glasses, mm?

[ He grabs the coffee cup with a huff, but hums pleasantly when the flavor hits his tongue. It's perfect. ]
Besides, I already took you to Germany with me. And now you've spent the night, as well. That is more than enough attention.
no subject
[ Now, she's able to portion the salad between them. Just looking at it, she's already got her tongue hooked over those sharpened teeth of hers. It's crisp, and has a sweet vinaigrette dressing! ]

[ Another long sip of his coffee and he's carefully lifting the sandwich she's chosen for him to his nose to smell it first. He can't quite place what it must be, but it seems he's interested enough to take a bite. ]
no subject
You're right, that will be fun. [ Grell sets his salad down within reach. ] I hope it shall be one day soon, I simply can't wait to see you all dressed up.
[ As for the sandwiches, they are delicious steak and onion baguettes. Grell's opted to dig into her salad first, once she's had a long and gracious sip of coffee. ]
no subject
[ He takes a decent enough bite out of his sandwich that he quickly motions to Grell for a napkin. There's a bit of gravy from it that threatening to drip off his chin if it isn't attended to quickly! ]
no subject
[ Seeing his distress, she can't help but laugh, though. Leaning over, she delicately takes his chin, wiping it for him! ]
There we are.
no subject
You could have simply handed me the napkin. I can find my own chin perfectly fine.
[ Though why is he surprised, really. ]
no subject
[ Leaving the napkin near him, should he need it again, Grell only shrugs! ]
It seemed more efficient, anyway.
no subject
Did they give you any estimate on when my glasses would be repaired by?
no subject
Tomorrow or the next, they'd said. [ Pausing, she'll take another sip of her drink. ] I'd reminded them that upper management wouldn't be too pleased if we were backed up a full day longer than is necessary, let alone those of us with overtime on our plates... So, if they're not prepared by tomorrow, I'm fully prepared to make those men sweat.
no subject
I hope you've done so for Knox, already.
no subject
Oh, I have. Don't you worry about that.
[ Not in the way that William might expect, surely - but Ronald has yet to catch up to her since this morning, and the mere befuddlement of why she'd kissed his cheek has been driving him a bit mad, it seems. The poor boy's been struggling to get her attention, and they've just missed one another between errands and assignments. ]
He's also had to cancel one of his parties. Due justice, you know.
no subject
[ Though the ladies of that department probably wouldn't mind. All the more reason for Grell to make sure Ronald's doing his best! He blots his lips again, after a few bites of the salad. It's also very good. Grell may not be able to cook, but she still has fine taste. ]
I suppose I will have to ask you to spend the night again.
[ Ron might get a second kiss if this keeps up! ]
no subject
Okay, maybe she did a bit, but it's nothing that a gentle clearing of the throat and some coffee won't fix!! ]
Only for you, darling.
[ This means more alone time with William. More CUDDLING. And who know what else, considering they've not much else available to entertain a blind man... Her feet sway under the counter in delight! ]
That means dinner plans will be required! Would you prefer to eat in tonight?
no subject
[ As much as he would like to leave the house, for a bit, he's not fond of being so helpless out in public. ]
Get whatever you'll need before you come back over after work. Toiletries or what have you.
[ There's a bit of a frown as he finishes his coffee, but setting the cup aside, he continues to work on his salad. ]
no subject
[ There's a bit of a chuckle, at that! He's likely too accustomed to issuing instruction on conductive matters, but perhaps he's thinking of her interests. Or, perhaps he simply doesn't want to be without her company more than is necessary! If only. ]
Mn, but it will be a few hours until I'm back. Did you need me to assist you with anything before I go?
no subject
Put some music on, I suppose. There's not much else I can do.
no subject
I could run a bath for you, if you'd like. I even packed some oils!
[ Stacking their dishes, she takes them to the sink to give a good rinse. ]
Unless your prefer to save that for the evening.
[ That would ideal, actually - but William in the bath would be so difficult to resist... ]
Might have to agree to share the sink with me, though!
no subject
[ Though, he wears them right up until the point he's under the water, and then they are immediately on his face again the moment he's done. So it's more a case of giving Grell too much leeway with getting close to him. ]
no subject
Well, alright then. Just don't go about hurting yourself.
[ Leaning into the counter beside him, she smiles. William's stubbornness is to be expected, so it won't sunk her spirits so easily! ]
What's your favorite music?
no subject
[ Softly huffing to himself as she leans closer to him. ]
If you cared to take notice, I managed perfectly fine while you were gone.
[ Yet, he is still asking her to stay over...better to move the topic on. ]
I will admit, I still favour the composers from our time period.
no subject
Mn, it was a fine time. The classical era.
[ Taking his arm, Grell encourages him up! ]
Let me guess, you're a Mozart man?
no subject
One of my favorite composers, yes. Odd to think how old his works are considered now.
no subject
A century will do that, you know! Everything has changed. Music, medicine, fashion...
[ Letting him trail behind her, then, she makes way for the record player once more. Picking up the sleeves to shift through, she hums in passing - one of Mozart's pieces, in fact. ]
Ah, here's a good one.
[ Once she's set it to play, the record begins with Concerto No 21. Clasping her hands together, she closes her eyes with a satisfied hum. ]
Will-- [ The thought's just flashed through her mind, but what is she if not spontaneous? Turning to him, she's already chuckling. ] Before I go, would you do me the honor of a dance~?
no subject
[ William pauses in his feeling along the arm of the love seat to turn towards the sound of Grell's voice. He takes his time to answer - perhaps contemplating whether he should grant her wish as a thank you, or perhaps hesitant that he'll be rubbish at leading a dance in his state. ]
You haven't a great deal of time to return from your lunch hour. Unless you fancy staying overtime.
